AA Sign & Awning is a Rhode Island-based company that designs, manufactures, and installs custom signs and awnings for businesses and homeowners with a history dating back to its founding in 1946.
Our History
In 2023, Darryl Lindie, a Naval Academy graduate with an MBA/MPA from MIT Sloan School of Management/Harvard Kennedy School, sought a business opportunity that fitted the idea of success he had:

Darryl found AA Sign & Awning as a business with the strong track record, a high standard for products provided, and many opportunities to grow. He decided to acquire the business and became the new owner in July 2023.
Established in 1946 by Al Andrews, AA Sign & Awning earned renown for its quality and service. Al’s legacy lives on with “The Al Andrews Award,” given annually by the Central Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce and the City of Warwick.
After Al’s passing in 1986, George and Carolyn Daubmann took over, spurring significant growth. They expanded services, diversified into residential and commercial awnings, and relocated to a 15,000-square-foot facility in Warwick, Rhode Island.
